Gift Tutorial #1: Organic Lavender Salt Scrub

This recipe is for a delicious salt scrub that does a great job exfoliating and energizing. It's perfect for this dry skin time of year. I love it because it's not only homemade, but also gives you the opportunity to recycle. Start saving your jars, ladies, there are so many great ways to reuse them.

One disclaimer: when you go buy all the ingredients, it'll probably run you close to $20. But, you can make several batches of the scrub and use some of the ingredients (salt and sugar) in other capacities.  I also love having essential oils on hand for illness or just relaxation (the lavender oil is great for that). You might even hit your hubby up for a neck massage using some of it. Okay, back to it.....

1. Start with a recycled jar. If you don't have one, head to World Market. They have tons that are cute and inexpensive.

 2. Next, make your scrub.  Combine 1 C. organic cane sugar, 1/3 C. sea salt, 1/2 C. organic coconut oil, 2-3 T. organic almond oil and a few drops of lavender essential oil.

3.  Spoon the scrub into your jar, make a cute little label, tie a ribbon and tada!

One down, eleven to go!!!  Stay tuned.......
